The year is 840-841, prior to the Battle of Fontenay-en-Puisaye and the Treaty of Verdun. We have Three Kings in a bitter struggle to reunite the rich lands of their grandfather, Charlemagne. Louis the German (Louis II), Charles the Bald (Charles II), and Lothaire the First (Lothar I) emerged as rulers and fought for the right of dominance over the Carolingian Dynasty.
